LA Explodes in Celebration as Dodgers Claim Second World Series Victory
The City of Angels experienced widespread celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-game World Series title. Supporters across the globe joined Angelenos in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a franchise has secured consecutive championships.
Victory Parade Attracts Enormous Turnout
Los Angeles area events included a downtown parade on Monday morning, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.
Online footage depict countless of Los Angeles residents packing city center avenues, many carrying handmade banners and team flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the crowds, hoisting the championship trophy proudly.
“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an translator.
The parade route ended at the stadium, where the team walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard providing music and the artist cruising a Pacific blue vintage Cadillac around the field.
Pre-Parade Festivities and Player Reactions
Celebrations began prior to the parade, with supporters lighting flares in the streets of the city center on the previous evening.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented plainly about the victory.

However, Mark Walter was met with a less warm reception at the celebration. Video footage from the gathering seem to depict Walter taking the stage to a mix of cheers and jeers, with jeers punctuating his speech.
The World Series acted as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for the city. An estimated quarter-million people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to team member one athlete, supporters this year demonstrated as much if not more support.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” he remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
